Re: Most common SSIDs by US City or State
Might want to filter out the default ISP and NETGEAR SSIDs otherwise It would just be the same for each city mostly.
Re: How does WiGLE Proccessing Really Work?
I miss going for a nice warwalk and being able to take a long shower and snack then pool over my new results on the map an hour later
Regurgitator fouling the data pool in my area
I've been noticing old networks that I know have been removed/replaced in my area starting to show last observed dates of 2025-03-08 and 2025-03-09 in my area. It shows up in the search queries but when I click the BSSID to view the observations list there's nothing for that date in there. Also on ...
Re: The queue is getting longer but it is not processed
I love that, reminds me of the mapping parties on OpenStreetMaps. Server seemed to handle it well, I was using up my query limit for the day yesterday to help build a list of all the open free wifi hotspots around town. I'm going to distribute it to the homelesses and library bulletin board later.
Re: Does Wigle data actually help law enforcement?
It can but makes no difference either way since Google and Apple already cooperates readily and has built in data collection for not only that but a few other things on every phone to collect that information. The only difference is those databases aren't as accessible to the general public but I ...
Re: Best way to find un-driven regions?
Seems to be working fine, albeit slow at times now again. I was having that issue too but it seems to be gone now.

Re: The queue is getting longer but it is not processed
Well that explains it. I notice it’s been slower trilaterating than usual. Also been having issues today getting the dots to load when browsing the map. If I scroll to a different area it won’t load the APs sometimes and gives a 404 when reloading the page.
Re: WarFlying
I busted the Cessna out of storage again late last year after getting the flying bug again and got new 9S batteries for xmas. Managed to get do a repeat of my old 2014 flight but twice and high this time. Went out for an early morning flight yesterday right when there was still zero wind, it would ...
Re: WarFlying
Hopping in to re-invigorate a newly necro'd thread, but just today I started putting together the bag of parts to go warflying with a small fixed wing drone, hauling not much more than a Pi Zero W, GPS, and a LoRa link. If I get anywhere at all, I'll be improving the antenna later.
How did ...
Re: WarFlying
Almost 10 years later and I have been giving it another try again though this time with the more stable platform of a delta wing kite. I used one of those smartphone clips to clamp it to the back of the center of the wing on the underside and near the keel to try and keep it as balanced as possible ...

Re: Kingman, AZ Wardrivers
What is out there man? I basically stop to get gas omw to Vegas through there.
Lot's. I get lots of commercial stuff on the wifi and bluetooth sides just using the wigle app on phone. Many fun curiosities over the years and it's interesting watching the growth of 2.4GHz spam making the band ...
Re: wow...everybody buying online ?
I need to get like a Getac laptop and a mag mount 2.4ghz antenna for the Alfa USB card. L-com has good antenna for that. The phone smarts are too slow and everytime I upload despite saying it found a lot on the app I only end up with like 10% of that or less when it gets uploaded into the site.
Re: Wigle app for Apple IOS in Cydia
There is Wifi-Where and WiFiFoFum on Cydia, both of which support uploading to WiGLE.net. I doubt we'll bother to spend any time writing for that platform while Apple keeps its stranglehold on it.
Is there still on there? I have the 3 generation iPad from long ago that I would like to use for ...
Re: Free stuff (ORiNOCO USB devices, IMAG5-2400 antennas, + more)
