Re: New Stumbler with some questions about the Wigle project!

This is fantastically helpful, I really appreciate you taking the time to share to this detail! I have already learned that wifi rssi is fickle and unreliable, even in relatively controlled, stationary setups. I charted packet rssi from a single stationary device, added below mostly for sharing purp...

Re: New Stumbler with some questions about the Wigle project!

I see, so to be clear, the actual trilateration calculation itself doens't occur publicly, is that right? --> I am hoping to figure this portion out, as it's the most interesting part! haha. I have hopes to eventually setup several indexpensive SoC devices to try my hand at real-time indoor location...

Re: Incentivization of infrequently visited tiles

This makes a ton of sense. I actually managed to drain my battery while being plugged in the whole time driving, so definitely, I see the importance!

I love that Wigle always has a solution! Great work guys!

Re: New Stumbler with some questions about the Wigle project!

Thanks for your reply here as well! (I hope opening multiple threads like that is the right process..) If you want something comprehensive, Kismet is a remarkably awesome tool." --...

Re: Incentivization of infrequently visited tiles

I suppose the feature request I see within your response would be a "all trips route display", which would allow users to prioritize roads that they themselves have not visited, ever.

Re: iOS14 MAC address privacy through randomization and Wigle

This makes a ton of sense! I missed the fact that Wigle only logs beacons. Thanks!

Incentivization of infrequently visited tiles

I saw a recent thread speaking to trying to encourage visitors to less common tiles, to broaden coverage, instead of the consistent over coverage on or near highways and other major roadways. I believe that the issue identified was that users send their data to Wigle, not the other way around. A few...

iOS14 MAC address privacy through randomization and Wigle

How it Wigle intending to handle Apple's recent announcement of daily MAC address randomization, releasing with IOS14?

Is there a method to omit specific devices categories from Wigle, now or in future? (Assuming these random MAC devices are detectable as Apple devices...?)

New Stumbler with some questions about the Wigle project!

Hello! First post! Questions! I see Wigle's API is pretty limited to prevent scraping, this makes sense, however, is it also limited if I want to query my own uploads? --> If so, any plans for a credit system to the wigle API? ------> If so, have you put thought to awarding API credits for new submi...
