I just checked, and you have it enabled in all other forums, but not in this one, the WiGLE Frontpage. Posts here lack a `Report` button for me.

Re: Sex Toy Security and WiGLE popularity

We still don't have a Report button in this area, but the last two comments were spam!

Re: WiGLE WiFi for Android phone performance comparison

The sleep when hopping between channels might not correlate well with the gain of the antenna, the noise within the LNA chain, the sensitivity of the radio, the selectivity of the tuner and its noise rejection characteristics. There is no substitute for predicting how well a given device will perfor...

Re: WiGLE WiFi for Android phone performance comparison

Did you use any USB wifi dongle with an external antenna on the Raspberry or only the internal one? I think you could find even more in monitor mode, not sure whether the linked OS image contains it: https://github.com/seemoo-lab/nexmon The RPI is this: https://www.designer2k2.at/de/mods/elektronik/...

Re: Wigle mobile rig for scanning odd Frequencies

Indeed, the wifi standard before 2012, allowed 802.11g to use so called "quarter- and half-clocked channels" (5MHz and 10MHz respectively). They carry multiple advantages, including improved noise immunity (delay spread due to up to 4x the symbol length), higher allowed transmit power (up ...

Re: Wigle Wifi for Android: Suggestions

You could use OpenStreetMap as well - its license allows for offline reproduction, and multiple offline engines exist for Android already. For longer runs, users can turn on "Display routes for execution" in the settings panel which will efficiently draw lines on the map showing the entire...

Re: WiGLE WiFi for Android phone performance comparison

It also matters whether your device is doing a passive scan or an active scan. I also had vintage Android devices that were tiny, underpowered and slow, but in certain situations they could pick up way more networks than the active scanners. It could also receive access points from a magnificent dis...

Re: Wigle mobile rig for scanning odd Frequencies

Those can be standard channels as well, maybe it's just your phone: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels#5_GHz_(802.11a/h/j/n/ac/ax) Some manufacturers want to play safe and only support the minimal amount of channels, but many more had been opened in the recent years and even months....

Re: Permission for using WiGLE tiles for contributing to OpenStreetMap

certainly not opposed to it - we're big fans of OSM! a few questions, since we're not in-the-know on the terminology: 1. We're certainly usable as a "signal" - but it's important to know that our designation of "free" or "pay net" is pretty arbitrary. Is that ok? 2. is...

Permission for using WiGLE tiles for contributing to OpenStreetMap

Dear admins, I'm an OpenStreetMap map editor and have also contributed to WiGLE in the past. It is amazing how thorough coverage the WiGLE volunteers have managed to achieve since then. I would like to offer a novel use case for your efforts that could potentially serve the community. Several softwa...
