Re: OK, which one of you is this?

That's the "porcupine", known in ham circles. Looks like the car gained a few dents since earlier pictures I saw.

Re: OK, which one of you is this?

http://cheezburger.com/6772449536 I was amused by the reporting that the person driving wasn't caught working in his car and therefore the police was wondering whether any law was broken, for example by having unsecured cargo. Looking at the picture closely shows that care was taken to fasten every...

Re: Trails across map pointing to zero/zero lat/long

Also a datapoint: I was testing the wardrivebox with a new GPS and noted that it was possible to get the answer "Lat=0.000,Long=0.000,Fix=2D" from the GPS sometime during the process of acquiring a first fix after unboxing. So those locations would be used in the interpolations of the loca...

Sophos goes warbiking

Sophos the security company went warbiking in London, in order to research the amounts of wireless networks and their security. Re: RC Aircraft Wardriving: Warflying?

The CNN video on the page was rediculous. "Wardrivers are going to hack into your computer with an RC plane and steal your credit card numbers." Yes. And you can imagine the original quote they got out of the interview is "yes this could overhear credit card numbers when they are tra...

Re: Looking for Explinations!

I noticed recently that there are certain areas that look suspicious.

Naming an area 'Brainerd' is quite likely to attract the 'crop'circles of PDAs and other wifi-capable devices.

Google streetview 'wardriving'

By now lots of articles mentioning that the google streetview camera mobile is also 'wardriving' (logging locations of access points) which can be used later for location queries using google APIs. Nothing new in google doing this, but it seems the scale on which they do this, the fact that they did...

Thanks! Let us know if you spot issues, it's still a work in progress. At certain zoomlevels, moving the map around gives overlays which use the style for a different zoomlevel. Quite hard to explain, so let me see if I can get one I can reproduce... Go to https://wigle.net/gps/gps/Map/onlinemap2/?...
