Yes, GeekGirl...I nominate you as the group leader for the "SJ Division". The only thing I used was my laptop with its internal card, NetStumbler, and a GPS receiver. I'm not familiar with what you're referring to for the new stuff and haven't played with anything else. I'm a newbie to all...

Haven't done anything for a while. I'll fire up the gear and do another survey in September. I concentrate on Cumberland County, and portions of Atlantic, but have been known to cruise thru other areas with the equipment. Keep in touch GeekGirl!

Thanks for that link...yes, most "newer" GPS receivers have the ability to turn on WAAS precision.

Differential

Don't even bother getting the bulky differential gps receiver add on. I have one for my boat. With the advent of WAAS, it's not worth the effort. You'd need the differential receiver and another antenna to lug around. I find that WAAS is very accurate. Sorry I don't have the technicals to back up my...
