I'd suggest a linux-based handheld like the Nokia tablets, and a USB wifi card. Then get Kismet going on that.

Nokias with GPS will let you do this (Symarctic ExtGPS) - that works for me. However, I don't know of any Motorolas that will.

I suggest you buy a USB GPS - they are not expensive.

Re: Warcarting

I doubt he bought that cart.
He said it was retrieved from an abandoned garbage dump.

I have not tried wpa_supplicant while scanning, not much point since I'm not trying to attach to the APs I see. That being said, at this point, my 78K gps plotted points have all been NS which cant recognize WPA anyway. No, I'm not using wpa_supplicant while scanning, I was just mentioning how it c...

Nice work.

I had something half-written to do this in Python already, but never quite finished it. Guess I should.

The best receiving card I've used only is a B card that came out well before WPA. I'm sure I'm not the only one using it or one of its clones as its -91dbi signal floor is handy. The scanning applications can tell B from G by the beacon timing. I believe the encryption type is determined by a flagg...

What's the bet that it will be like FRS in the US - nobody really ever bothered registering with that for the "license fee", and the whole thing was scrapped. "Rossvyazokhrankultura (short for the Russian Mass Media, Communications and Cultural Protection Service)" Short for? I t...

In the same category, I also threw this together: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/174/471172049_5563284cd6_d.jpg Again, it struggled with the slow CPU and Kismet, especially with the two wireless cards (the longer thing with the green light on the side is a USB wireless card, the one with the green l...

Wardriving is listening to the radio.
But nobody would believe that doing so and pirate broadcasting go hand in hand, or that all radio listeners like to undertake this.

Just have 3 different source lines in the kismet config. Kismet will do just fine with 3 devices in one instance - it will even manage channel hopping in an optimum manner.

Fit PC offers 5 watt PCs with a nice enclosure.

Specs look highly similar to the ALIX board, except for the extra ethernet channel... interesting. So it might be a custom board.

Does it have minipci for wireless, I wonder :)

PC Engines make awesome boards. I have a WRAP 2E that works very nicely. At the moment, I'm trying to rig up a 10xAA battery pack for it (10x1.2v 2000mah Ni-MH batteries) and get the GPS working with it (no USB connector on this one, only solder pads for one :) ) I've also got a VIA EPIA board I'm s...
