make your window wider - the table hides columns when the display is too narrow.

Re: Map website access issue

yeah - a weird/creepy bug. fwiw, ERSI has NO integration with our user accounts, so definitely shouldn't/can't be asking for them.

Re: Map website access issue

ESRI appears to have pushed out a bad update yesterday for some reason. They seem to have resolved it - if you force refresh the page, is the issue still happening for you?

Re: GPS accuracy

these issues happen because of several reasons: 1. the long lines sound like GPS issues - these are (unfortunately) common in older devices. 2. points are trilaterated - the centers of the signal are estimated according to an algorithm. Bad GPS coordinates can contribute to points being located in o...

WiGLE had a partial search subsystem outage earlier today - apologies for the interruption in service. We have restored service and are analyzing the cause.

We certainly can't review this volume of data by hand, so pointers/coordinates are appreciated.

Re: Android app updated - lost all entries in database

What UI changes are you seeing? There are few circumstances under which something like this might happen. 1. This could be a result the Android storage change - Google is forcing apps into "internal" storage - which would "orphan" the old database. That file won't be gone, just no longer in the corr...

Re: Android App version 2.63 Forces Pixel 2XL to reboot @ 10K

Certainly isn't happening with our test devices; I've just tested a Pixel 5, Samsung A10, and others with 32k nets, all keep going strong Can you check and see whether or not you have any crash logs? (and if so, share them with us via email at WiGLE-admin[at]wigle.net) A few other items to check: - ...

Re: here is an Wi-Fi throttle fix for Android 9 users (non root or rooted)

it's an "android debug bridge" command - a developer tool for interacting with Android devices. You have to connect the device to a computer via USB and issue that command in a terminal session. https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/ for instructions to install ADB. We've ha...

Re: Was a bypass for Android 9 throttling found?

People have suggested that setting the throttle off via a ADB command works on some implementations. If you happen to test it, please let us know if it works!

See viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2842&p=10784&hilit ... tle#p10784 for how people say you can do it!

Re: WiGLE location no longer runs in 'background'

fix confirmed - it's remarkable that Google would change such a core behavior at the very end of a release lifecycle.

Re: WiGLE location no longer runs in 'background'

I take that back. GPS appears only to function with the screen on. Furthermore in the case of this update (RQ3A.210905.001), adding

Code: Select all

android.permission.ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION
has no effect - GPS does not update when the device is locked.

Re: Trilateration query

What you're proposing actually maps somewhat to the clustering approach we use. discarding low-signal points generally isn't necessary, if you're weighting based on the square of signal strength per observation. Trying to infer anything deterministic based on structure is extremely difficult since W...

Re: WiGLE location no longer runs in 'background'

Just upgraded a Pixel 5 to RQ3A.210905.001 - it had silently set WiGLE to "battery optimized" without asking.
Upon disabling, the app behaved as expected.
