The Digle Readme file has detailed instructions As I have not used Windows in over 10 years, I did not look at that client. I did not expect that instructions for JiGLE would be in another client. [img][/img] Well now that it's in the forum, maybe it will be easier for others to find. Thanks

Dah. I had found the Add a wireless network to WiGLE [from a stumble file] or [by hand]" but also saw the "You know this is Wrong" so kept looking. I did not check the "Post File". Why, maybe because I kept looking for "Upload File". I would like to suggest that fo...

Where to find uploading instructions

I am getting to know the WiGLE site pretty well now, as I have had to search so many different sections for answers. Having just discovered WiGle, I guess that is not unusual for newbe's to ask questions but I find it hard to believe that the answers are not easy to find. Strange for a site that had...

Sorry Bob. Of course you are correct. As each county is a different filename it will _not_ overwrite the other counties.

My apologies for my hasty reply!

Aye, bobzilla but I had not read that anywhere I looked. I'm glad that I didn't. I plan to update for 3 different counties. If I did unzip in the jigle dir then I would be overwriting the other county every time. That entails too much work for an old timer like me. By putting all the map files in li...

JiGLE Map locations

OK, I figured it out. For others that were not able to find any info on how to do it. Download a mappack and unzip it. It will unzip to a folder called JiGLEMaps. In that folder is a maps folder. Copy the contents of JiGLEMaps/maps/ to JiGLE/JiGLEMAPS/maps/. Re-start JiGLE and your mappack will now ...

JiGLE Problem

It looks like I had a bad download on my first try. I Just got a good download and errors are gone.

New question. Where should the mappacks I download be put,
ie in the JiGLE/mapData dir? Doesn't one mappack overwrite the
current data in that dir?

Linux wifi adapters

Check the MadWifi site. They have a Compatability list with many cards listed. I run a Netgear WG511U on a Thinkpad T40 running Debian. Also look into the linux-wlan-ng drivers (PCMCIA & USB), I have a ZyDas 1211 USB module mounted on a 23dbi Yagi running with the linux-wlan-ng modules. Google i...

I have the Airdash USB Stick working on Linux with the linux-wlan-ng drivers. It came mounted on a 23dbi Yagi. The dirver module is prism2_usb. Don't know if OS-X will work but you could try it.
