Cell counts major difference since 2.3.6 update

I jumped onto the Beta track and upgraded to 2.3.6 from 2.31. Running on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935V) under Android 8.0.0, build R16NW.G935VVRS4CRG2. Since the update, my cell numbers have been massively higher, to the point I'm doubting the numbers. Screenshot attached -- you can see where t...

Re: Extreme noob question

IRC is Internet Relay Chat, an ancient but still vital communication platform. It's an old-school "party line" -- lots of people can connect to a server and a channel and type at each other. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Relay_Chat You'll need an IRC client application for your ma...

Re: Longest run distance?

Damn, I'm only at 28,317 miles on this phone. Cleared my database at least once moving between phones, wished I'd kept the whole total this past dozen years :)

Uploads stuck on "Catalog Indexing..." ?

I'm seeing that my last three uploads have been in "Catalog Indexing..." status for the past 3 days. This might just be a system load issue, but I figured I'd mention it in case something is stuck.

Re: 400 Million Wifi Networks

Sorry dude, some idiot across the street from me bought a new printer, yet another AP has appeared in my neighborhood :-)

Re: Wigle Wifi Wardriving Android App and Tasker

I had to smile reading this "necro-thread" -- one new post for a (semi-arcane) feature request, two days pause, BINGO it's in the next release.

That's damn impressive for any piece of software. Kudos to you guys for everything that makes @wiglenet wiggle (just a little bit).

Re: What is "Geo Indexing..." status?

It seems to have something to do with the creation of the linked KML file for each run, but that's just my guess...

Upload dialog is not modal, can tap past it

Running a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime with Android 5.1.1. When I tap Upload to Wigle.net and confirm the upload, the upload file starts generating and the "Working..." dialog pops up. The dialog is not modal, so I can (usually accidentally) tap elsewhere on the screen and lose the upload pro...

Re: Automatically Upload the Data

>Notably, since automatic uploads shouldn't interfere with normal operation of the application, it will need to be sure that you've either 1. successfully set up your credentials beforehand, or 2. opted for anonymous upload. How about when enabling automatic upload IF user credentials are EMPTY then...

Re: Automatically Upload the Data

Gonna play contrarian -- this feels too much like checking your Facebook feed every 3 minutes... I let WigleWiFi run for HOURS at a time and only upload when I get back a WiFi network I actually can connect to ;-) I don't think I've ever lost data due to my battery dying. As long as you are writing ...

Re: Excel CSV to Wigle

Back in the bad-old-days with my Compaq iPad I had Excel format output that I massaged into Kismet standard format, which WiGLE was able to ingest. It involved some formulas to manipulate the data into the right date formats, GPS coordinate formats, etc. It was beastly compared to the direct upload ...

Re: Feature Request: Only show seen by me on map

The export just keeps getting better and better! 1. Sounds like the right approach -- I had seen a few of those 1KM "arms" emanating out of my downtown runs, now I'm guessing they came from indoor points with bad GPS. 2. I'm happy to see most of my runs are bright green, nice accurate GPS ...

Re: Welcome new users, a note about the interactive maps

Hey Ark, the maps at the moment are looking woefully underpopulated with dots on my side of town. Definitely not representing all the points that have been collected in the Twin Cities, MN since 2015. New tile generator gone a bit wonky perhaps?
