That 's easy if you kept your original logs. Do a WiGLE query for AP's found only by you with a zero as the coordinates. Now you have the MAC addresses and search your logs for that MAC. If that log has any with GPS then you have an idea where to start. I keep a trace of every drive from day one so...

I tend to WD college student housing areas when I can because the AP density there is about double just about any other area in the area. Don't be supprised if some of your points move arround because of that alone. now if ony I could easilly figure out where I was when I drove the 4000+ APs that s...

I have a lot of miles, but I don't necessarily have quality miles. I am limited mostly to interstate travel and interstate speeds. One of the hardest things is getting a decent GPS signal on the buses in a way that doesn't interfere with the 10 other people on the bus and without modding the busses...

Whoa. Read my setup again. I'm running 2 laptops. One is my navigation box running XP Pro, Globalsat BU-353 GPS puck, Netstumbler, and Delorme Street Atlas USA 2006. The second laptop is the workhorse running Kismet on top of Knoppix 3.8.2 installed to the hard drive with a Globalsat BU-353 GPS puck...

The second laptop is the workhorse running Kismet on top of Knoppix 3.8.2 installed to the hard drive with a Globalsat BU-353 GPS puck, a Mobile Mark 5.5 dBi mag mount antenna from Fab Corp, and a 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g 1 Watt Indoor Amplifier with 16 dB gain, and a Engenius Senao 200mw PCMCIA Card (251...

Mark, If you have suggestions that would be great. I have not had time to finish converting. cc. Not sure what to suggest since I don't know what's wrong if anything. I use Knoppix 3.8.1 installed to my drive. In the beginning, I dual booted on an old laptop then I decided I didn't need Win on that...

I use a USGlobalSat BU-353 - works great with KisMac. I also use the USGlobalSat BU-353. I just purchased my second one. It uses the SiRF Star III chipset. I can pull into my garage and still keep a 3D lock. It's the same guts/chipset as the Holux 236. They use the PL-2303 driver. Works great in Ki...

Sorry, I missed that one important word "ignore" GPS file.

Yes, I have seen a difference in the CSV and XML twice but as I stated previously my box was having issues and after a rebuild I've not seen it since.

Dragorn would be the one to ask for a definitive answer since he wrote Kismet.

Dutch on NetStumbler.org has several good posts on this (better than I can explain) but the GPS file will have all the detected clients listed in it in addition to the networks in the CSV or XML. Dragorn did it this way on purpose. I HAVE seen times where the CSV and XML did not match due to an erro...

It's well worth your time. You'll wish you'd done it sooner. You can redrive your previous areas and it'll appear as though they were never driven. Good luck. I can vouch for that! As mark571 also previously suggested you want to upload all 3 of your kismet generated file types: CSV (.csv), XML (.x...

Dang, I was wondering why I was getting my butt handed to me in the stats for the month. And now you just leaped ahead. Sheez.. Well thank you for the reply, and nice to meet you. PS, I'm guessing that you're only using Netstumbler and not Kismet? Add Kismet to your setup and you bring home almost ...
