Thank you for the reply. I decide to go with a 400 mw mini pci card. Originally, I had considered getting a prism, but the ones I found were type IIIa and I needed type three B. So instead I got an Atheros. It says 400 mw but the few tries I made weren't impressive. Of course, that could be from lo...

No, you do NOT try to get into networks when wardriving. I think you have the wrong idea.

I am not bragging about using an expensive software package that you can't use... or afford. By the looks of it, some of us seem to be in a way using this package already. I had a look at WhirlWind, I don't see what it can do that KisMac/Kismet and combined with other tools can't. On second thought...

As for the "strange" BSSIDs, according to the specs (IIRC, but I'm not 100% sure) ad-hoc networks are actually meant to use a random BSSID.

He's not the same guy that posted on the Netstumbler forums is he?

Anyway, it's a simple two-step process.

1. Throw PCMCIA modem out window / into bin / into fire
2. Buy wireless card and use it.

It's not so much discontinued as discontinued in Germany. The project is continuing when we move it to the Netherlands and possibly Switzerland - not all the developers are in Germany.

Re: Creating an Imaginary Screen for Google Earth or other m

Does this violate the EULA? :?: Unfortunately it kind-of does... You may not copy, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, translate, modify or make derivative works of the imagery , in whole or in part. You also may not rent, disclose, publish, sell, assign, lease, sublicense, market, or transfe...

Not too sure it's relevant to this forum, but anyway, I'd say get a phone, preferably with an antenna socket, and enable the relevant network monitor mode on it.

Nice. I dropped it into Keynote, and made this in about 10 seconds :) Can Keynote do a Logarithmic Scale ? That'd make channels other than 1/6/11 more differentiated than in a linear scale. Not specifically, but I could just find the log of all the data points, and graph them. I didn't actually sav...

Re: Kismet Compatible USB 802.11g?

Greetings, Are there any USB 802.11g adapters that are compatible with Kismet under Linux? I thought I had found a list that included a couple such adapters some time ago but now I can't find it. See point 12 here: http://kismetwireless.net/documentation.shtml. At present, I have been using the bui...
