Re: Ringing every 15 seconds while running app on new Moto G

this issue is fixed in the latest build.

Re: I need some help puting together a script - I know nothing of how to put this idea into play

I'm afraid this isn't really a practical application of the data or the app. 1. this is subject to coincidence - if you're driving in the same direction at the same speed as cars, or walking in a crowd, there will be far more "false positives" than anything meaningful. Every device on publ...

Re: Sudden drop in WiFi numbers

A couple of other notes: - You didn't mention the scan throttling setting - have you made sure to turn OFF scan throttling (via Developer mode) on your Android 10-and-up devices? - We don't support or maintain whatever that Nethunter release is, and it was done without our knowledge or blessing. Tha...

Re: Sudden drop in WiFi numbers

First, congrats on the amazing coverage! Now for the bad news: If the problem were on our end, we'd see a generalized drop-off - as you can see from the stats graphs ( https://wigle.net/graph-large.html ) , that hasn't happened on a global scale. This suggests that the problem is local to your area ...

Re: Being flooded with apple ble's

No, no-one is tracking you just because you see bluetooth beacons. Those are just devices (perhaps your own?) beaconing at the moment. Bluetooth devices send beacons to advertise that they're within range, to communicate (largely anonymously) that things are happening to other bluetooth devices with...

Re: How does wigle calculate bestlat and bestlon?

ummm 1. are you asking about the client? 2. are you asking about the onboard clustering for display of what's stored in the local SQLite? If the answer is "yes" to 1 and "local SQLite" to 2, it's involved, but: https://github.com/wiglenet/wigle-wifi-wardriving/blob/2170cb04896227...

Re: Login issue from smartphone

A couple of things to check: - smartphones love auto-capitalizing first letters and auto-correcting - passwords ARE case-sensitive. - if you're using a VPN or other proxy software on your phone, sometimes those get listed as invalid - if all else fails, you can reset your password (nothing weird abo...

Re: Lost my old phone and hence my map

Re: Plot Error

this usually just means the map server is overtaxed. waiting and reloading will almost always work.

Re: Lost my old phone and hence my map

if you just want to see what you've discovered, try turning on the map tiles on your new phone - select a recent range of years, and "Mine" - that'll overlay the same tiles on your map as the website uses. It's much more efficient, keeps your phone fast.

Re: Lost my old phone and hence my map

that actually just gets the SSID/BSSIDs - to bring in your old observations, you can use the uploads list and download/incorporate those files. Automating this (and replacing the old Import Observed feature) is on the roadmap (pull requests welcome!). Usual warning: bringing all your data onto one p...

Re: How to see all registered networks on Android APP ?

We don't enable the map tiles by default, since the requests effectively expose your location by proxy (just to us, but still).

Settings -> Map Tiles -> "All"

Re: Unable to secure connection with WiGLE

per thread, the solution is sideloading the olddroid branch APK from our official github repo: https://github.com/wiglenet/wigle-wifi-wardriving/tree/oldroid/dist/release There is no solution relying on the Play store (nor will there be) - Google will no longer allow us to list apps that support 10+...

Re: Audio Beep on OPEN network discovery only

WiGLE is fundamentally not intended as an open WiFi finder, and we don't advocate connecting to networks without the operator's permission regardless of network encryption status.

WiGLE is open source, the link is under Tools on this site.
