Woot

Looks good. Now how doable are these features? :) Sortable column for what group the user is in on the main stats page. Ability for group members in an 'approval required' group to be able to query all points found by the group, not just by themselves. Aka, let users see who found what within their ...

Lol

Lol, ok. Any advice on reading the vector mappacks from a developer standpoint? Is there some kind of format to that? I've off and on been digging through the JiGLE src, and so far haven't even located the map pack reader... I'm sure I'll find it and get it all figured out on my own at some point, b...

What I'm saying is, if they're all generated than nobody has to wait. As far as time and resources, I'm referring to wasted cpu cycles. Either that or put a limit on one per user at a time or something like that. That way if it's in use by another user, you can still generate map packs. What does Wi...

GZip Queries

Seems like I remember uhtu saying something about this at one point, and I apologize for not entirely doing my homework on this one, but a WiGLE client can get queries in GZip right?

Is there a way to set the map pack generation to a low priorty on the server? Have it run in the background? That way it doesn't slow things down.

Map Pack Generation Queue

How about setting it up so we can generate more than 1 mappack at a time, or in a row without having to wait 5 minutes just to click one thing and have it generate another one? It'd be really cool to have it generate 5 mappacks or so and come back an hour later and see them all done, rather than hav...

Teams!

Yea, so a friend and I decided tonight that wigle needs another table in the DB for teams. Something real simple that just associates a user with a team/team name, for viewing on the stats page.

Other ideas for connectivity

I've never heard of ricochet, but it sounds neat, so I'll check it out. I've done something similar just over a cell phone. 14.4 dial up to nocharge.com, but it works for those who already have cell phones and don't want to buy the ricochet set. If you primarily use it in the car, you might consider...

Hmmmm

What I would have done was tried to get some answers from the next higher up cop. Chief of Police in that area probably. If no results there then you keep working your way up the tree. 99 times out of 100 the problem will get fixed without having to make a fuss over it. But the second it doesn't, th...

Limits

WiGLE only returns 120,000 max APs. So for instance, if you are viewing cook county in the client app, you won't get all of the APs.

It's just a count

Bobzilla or uhtu will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that all networks recorded in the stats is nothing but a number, added to everytime you upload new data.

Forum Bug

I just realized that even though I've been bugging you guys about this for about a year, that I never posted it on the forum. :) Ok, so say you logged in a few days ago. Now when you login to the forum, you have to login twice. The first time you get to the login screen, your session id is different...

Re: There's a prog to do this....

This wont export only the networks i discovered though. Mayhaps Wigle could add an option to save a query instead of viewing it in the browser http://wigle.net/gps/gps/GPSDB/query/ This should be simple enough to do. Why not add the ability to show all networks you have seen/discovered, even if you...

There's a prog to do this....

You can use the Musatcha.com WiFi Mapping Engine to do this. http://www.musatcha.com. I've still got it in alpha though, right now I'm working on a db driven release, so please ignore the crappiness :-).

Other interesting ones

leavemealone mcse_dontscrewwithme DamnCiscoSucks Many with not-random unprintable ascii chars Many quite un-appropriate for a forum. Including references to inbreeding. Found lots of those in Omaha Nebraska. (Not saying that I didn't find them elsewhere! I have nothing against Nebraska-ians. In fact...
