fo0bar: what browser do you use? i know mozilla/nn6 does, and i've been told that IE allows you to remember form values and always fill them in again on subsequent visits.

http basic auth is horribly broken. even over ssl. you are unable
to scope sessions or credentials in any major browser.

obviously bobzilla just needs to get a more impressive database/machine.

mapquest still does. it just comes back as part of the cookie instead of the URL.
