Anyone have a GOOD directional anntenna design? needs to be mountable on a normal camera tripod (1/4 x 20 thread)

I got commercial-cantenna-like performance from a can (stolen from a bottle of speyburn scotch), used an element length calculator i found on the web, and added some quick-release mounts to a tripod (the little springloaded ones).

estimated cost (includes a tasty single malt, n-type M panel mount, and the easy-release:) $30. assuming you like speyburn anyway, then it's only $10.
