That's pretty good. The best i've been able to do so far in 50 minutes or there abouts with a p200 notebook with 2 pc cards(one w/preamp) and 1 USB card in Kismet so far is 2,850 with 1,380 being new.
I've been playing around with a few different antenna designs and find a hi-gain(guessing around 12dbi) plus the preamp on my 8410 card to be well suited for most everything around here at distance. My others are a 8470 w/7.0dbi and a 2dbi(metro area only) or 5dbi on the usb.
I'm been sticking pretty much with different collinear type antennas soldered directly to the feedline and braiding and tining the coax shield into 3 or 4 1/2 wave ground radials. So far it seems to work quite well.
What have you guys been trying for homebrews or are you using mostly store bought only now?

yah I found about 2400 ap's total, 1498 new.

I tried some homebrew stuff back in '03 without much luck. All my antennae are pre-made.
