Barrage of numerical user name posters?

This is more out of curiosity. What's with all the file postings from users with numbers lately?
Is someone creating a new user for each file upload, or trying some custom created automated file posting script? All but one of the entries I'm talking about looks like an acct. was created, and used to upload once. It just looks really strange to me that around 30 people would all of the sudden create user names with numbers like that.
