Apple has pulled all Wifi scanning apps from their App Store, noted in a Wifi-Where forum post. Also gone are WiFoFoFum and yFy. Apple's schizophrenia is getting old.

Wow, good thing I just bought Wifi-Where a few days ago. I also have WiFiFoFum.

Yeah, it now feels like I'm hiding contraband censored books from the Thought Police.

cultofmac.com blog post about this. Comments mention that WifiTraq, Wifi Get, Wifi Analyzer and eWifi have also been removed.
Report from The Register on this. Another note from 3jacks. Someone on apple forum wondering where yFy went.

I have a couple of these applications. They seem to better find WiFi access - even my own home system - than the built-in app under Settings on my 3G 32GB touch. Will a sync in iTunes "erase" these purchased, "non-approved" apps? Or am I too paranoid?

AFAIK, no they won't get erased.

I don't believe there has been an incidence of Apple pulling the 'kill switch' to auto-delete an app from your phone. After the much publicized bruhaha a year ago, I can't imagine they'd ever use it.

It looks like yFy will be coming to Cydia soon - http://www.infomind.com/iphone/yfy.html.

Time to revert back to 3.1.2 and jailbreak this iPod Touch...heck, then I could add a real GPS too!
