Been doing WiFi stuff since 2004 when joining Air-Stream and originally uploaded ns1 files to WiGLE when doing site surveys around Adelaide.
I was inactive until this month, been scanning again since getting the Android app, so much easier having it all in one and then just upload it. Only downsides is no external antenna and it drains the battery quick as its a phone but it still picks up a lot.
I scan when I'm out walking but keep it on USB charge when in the car or on the motorbike. The bike is great when going for joy rides, just leave it in the rear compartment scanning away.
I also know themacuser but didn't know he was active on WiGLE.
