Personally, I'm not sure why you replaced the simple but functional HTTP auth with the cookie stuff, but oh well.... anyways, I would really apprectiate an option on the logon page to make it a permanent logon/cookie.

I hate typing :)

http basic auth is horribly broken. even over ssl. you are unable
to scope sessions or credentials in any major browser.

fo0bar: what browser do you use? i know mozilla/nn6 does, and i've been told that IE allows you to remember form values and always fill them in again on subsequent visits.

oh, and cookies are much better?
